Working Speaker Driver 6.5inch

This project will continue to evolve over time. EDIT 26.11.2019 ASSEMBLY SECTION ADDED (Scroll down) EDIT 29.11.2019 STL Files, I have a strong dislike for them! As a Fusion user, I find that remixing can be frustrating with all the converting, STL into meshimixer, cleaning, then to STEP, importing etc... SO If you want anything other than STL, please send me a message. ************************************************************************** This is a working speaker driver however you will need 5mm cube magnets (get a pack of 100), Enamelled AWG38 Copper wire and a 6.5" speaker suspension though I can imagine that this could be printed with something like TPE, though I haven't personally tried. This was my first ever attempt at designing a speaker driver that could be 3D printed, so it won't win any awards for sound quality. As to why the sound quality isn't great, this was because there was no work done on designing the magnetic motor. More recent builds have been designed around calculations using FEMM and yielding better SPL results. SPL Results can be found here - www.facebook.com/SparrowLegsSpeakerDesign/posts/2140615959370686?__tn__=-R One point for educators, you'll see that there's two magnet carriers, an inner and outer. The outer required 3 magnets stacked, as such this magnet orientation on each layer could be changed. Think Halbach Array. Example of how the magnets are arranged can be found on a photo in this post - www.facebook.com/SparrowLegsSpeakerDesign/posts/2160360884062860?__tn__=-R PROBLEMS AND FETTLING. ---------------------------------------- I designed and made this in mid 2019, I remember that the thread needed a bit of fettling as did the VC. You are more than welcome to remix this to improve the design. ADDITIONAL NOTES ----------------------------- I'm not technical support for this design, it's aimed at those who are willing to learn by hands-on experience and in my eyes nothing is a failure. As such in the master file - Standard Driver.STL, you will see a few parts which contain various redesigns. Feel free to have a play. The speaker cones need to be printed using vase mode (Spiralize Outer Contour in CURA) and depending on material any changes to the materials thickness will alter the "former" which the AWG wire is wrapped around. This diameter should be checked before printed to ensure that it fits in the magnetic gap sleeve. Enjoy. More of my work can be found here - www.facebook.com/SparrowLegsSpeakerDesign
