Working break assembly
myminifactory
To ensure the piston fits smoothly, I applied a strip of 3M double-sided tape inside the caliper where it resides. It's crucial not to remove the second protective layer or the piston will remain immobile. By sliding the piston in gently, it should move with minimal pressure. For the brakes to function, I attached a small hose fitting using superglue, making sure it's air-tight. A similar setup was applied on the opposite end with a standard water bottle. When you compress the water bottle, the piston should retract. Please note that this is an interim design and will require further refinements if necessary. I designed this working prototype of a Hub and brake assembly to accommodate a 608z skateboard bearing. This project is still in development and needs fine-tuning for optimal performance. This model was created specifically for educational purposes, serving as a starting point for more advanced designs. Good luck with your project!
