Working Brake Assembly

Please remember this is not the final product. Designed a working model of a Hub and brake assembly that fits around a 608z skateboard ball bearing. This project is still in progress, requiring finer adjustments if necessary. Made for educational purposes, designed as part of a project. UPDATE 9/2/17: Reuploaded all model .stl files to scale, eliminating the need for scaling changes like previous versions. Also changed the orientation to match printing settings. Good Luck! Print Settings Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 20% Notes: Not all parts require supports, but the Hub definitely needs them. Working assembly Air fittings To build up pressure under the piston and move it within the brake assembly, I used a small plastic hose fitting found in auto parts stores. The same type of fitting is used on windshield washer hoses, and I applied super glue to secure them in place. These fittings can be found at your local auto parts store. Piston To prevent air leaks when moving the piston, I used double-sided foam tape about 1mm thick and 10mm wide. This tape can be found at your local auto parts store or purchased online through a link like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Double-Sided-Tape-Adhesive-Auto-Truck-Car-Acrylic-Foam-Attachment-2-CM-x-8-M-/261633362303?hash=item3cea90497f:g:qMIAAOSw-nZTom~2 Apply the tape on the inside of the Brake caliper where the piston sits, ensuring a snug fit. Test it out with some air pressure before carrying out full assembly. IMPORTANT: Do not remove layers to expose the other side of the sticky foam tape. The smooth layer allows the piston to slide freely under air pressure.
