Working 75 mm Ratchet wrench

Working 75 mm Ratchet wrench

thingiverse

An operational proof-of-concept ratchet mechanism, designed to fit select bolt heads on Thingiverse, is presented here. The device boasts impressive sturdiness and functionality, prompting curiosity about its load capacity. Although the springs could be improved with more time spent on their design, they still work adequately. As a bonus for showing off the mechanism's inner workings to friends, quick-release features would have been beneficial. To recreate this project, download and print the required parts: one Castle (with or without handle), one Crown, and four Springs. For added fun, consider using multicolored materials. Print settings of 20% infill, 1.2mm walls, and 0.2mm layers produce a robust model. Assemble your ratchet mechanism and enjoy its snug fit with Bbuonomos' "Large Threaded Bolt and Nut" (thing:4880) when paired with the appropriate socket size of 75.5mm. Alternatively, scale VeryWetPaint's "Wrong Way Nut" (thing:12728) to x1.536 for a compatible fit. For assistance with other Thingiverse nuts and bolts, share print scaling requirements, and relevant links will be added to this guide. Optional post-assembly step includes heating protruding spring ends to prevent rattling during heavy use. Recent updates include a handle version of the Castle (please share pictures if printed), along with corrected Solidworks model files. Be sure to check for future updates and share your creations!
