Innovative workbench with infinite height adjustment between 650mm and 1050mm. Counter weight reduces the amount of effort required to adjust table height. Toggle clamp mechanism allows quick release/lock at any height. Adjustment method: Counter weight to balance the weight of bench-top assembly. All pivot points are aligned with object's center of gravity in the vertical position. Toggle clamp mechanism for quick release/locking once the desired height is reached. 2. The counter weight is designed to be slightly heavier than the bench-top assembly to ease lifting; a heavier counter weight can be configured to lift additional loadings on the bench-top, up to the 500kg limit if necessary. 3. Height adjustment from 650mm to 1050mm (adjustment range is determined by the length of column supports and cable length; this can easily be reconfigured to match user requirements). 4. The table moves upright in a linear fashion. 5. Mechanism works on gravity and does not require an external energy source. 6. Gravitational potential energy is used to ease handling. 7. Adjustment speed is within the limits of 15mm/s. 8. The positioning of the bench-top height is step-less and infinitely adjustable. 9. Adjustment procedure is easy: flip the toggle clamp mechanism to the open position, move bench-top to any allowable height as desired, then flip the toggle clamp mechanism back to the locking position to secure bench-top height. 10. The design has been optimized for simplicity, convenience, strength and durability. It has also been designed for manufacturability: the two column supports are constructed of extruded structural aluminium alloy but can also be replaced with sheet steel. Fiber-reinforced plastic caps and pulley pivot ease assembly. The rest of the frame features sheet metal construction. Counter weight is composed of a rectangular steel block with a Teflon (PTFE) outer sleeve for reduced friction and wear against the outer-channel. 11. The estimated production cost of workbench is around US$120. 12. External aesthetics follows Sovella styling. 13. Model bench-top measures 900x1500mm. Other configurations are also possible. 14. Bench-top is composed of a timber material; table frame is of steel construction.
