Workbench Built From Solid Core Doors
grabcad
Constructing a robust workbench, I envisage utilizing two solid core doors bonded together as the top. Additionally, another door of the same kind will serve as a shelf. For the frame, dimensional lumber (4x4's and 2x4's) is planned. My approach to secure the back is to insert a spline into it. I believe that with an ample amount of adhesive and screws, this piece would be as they say, extremely sturdy. It should accommodate a vice or reloading press without any issues. Interestingly, Alibre estimates the weight at approximately 300 pounds while SolidWorks calculates it to be around 200 pounds for the same design.
