Work desk

I conceptualized this workstation several years ago when I was in need of a cutting-edge electronics workbench equipped with overhead illumination and a shelf to accommodate my equipment. Our local Fab-Lab was hosting a design competition for furniture, and this desk secured third place among the entries. This design features a flat-pack structure that necessitates only a hammer (and a file) for assembly, devoid of screws or adhesives. Initially, I utilized lengthy pieces of MDF to support the expansive work surface in the first iteration. However, this proved insufficient, prompting me to replace them with generic wooden beams procured from the local DIY store. My initial inclination was to incorporate a TL tube for lighting, but I discovered high-brightness LED strips at an affordable price, which I affixed to an aluminum U-profile and subsequently attached to the desk.
