Work bench stop

Work bench stop

thingiverse

This is a simple bench stop for my Work Mate folding bench. Usually Work-Mates or similar benches come with four plastic stops or grippers that inevitably get damaged or lost. This is a replacement and/or supplement.

As long as it it 3D printed with the anvil (front face) down it appears to be quite strong. But print it on its head then it will shear the first time you use it. NOTE: The image alongside the STL file shows the stop on its side. Don't try and print it like this either. Print it like the image taken from Prusa-slic3r - the one on the Ender plate

I have regularly used these in woodwork but their breaking point (even if printed anvil down) is unknown and it's a matter for personal judgement how hard you push them. I haven't had any break on me - yet! But be careful.

Printing it anvil down means that the circular plug is a bit messy on side touching the plate but hey! this is for a work bench right? And it's really not that bad.

The diameter of the circular peg is 19.6mm so gives an easy fit into a 20mm diameter hole on the Work Mate. When under load the head does slightly ride up. While I haven't found this a problem it may indicate the diameter of the circular peg should be slightly increased.

Basically, it works for me. I hope it works for you too.
