Tired of gazing at an ordinary desk clock? Behold, Clox, a word clock that tells time and date with style! Not only does it display the current hour and minute, but it also shows the day of the week, which is super useful, trust me. Clox was one of my earlier projects, and I'm thrilled to share it with you. If you decide to build this project, that's just awesome! Here are some easy-to-print parts: Print Settings Printer: Flash Forge Creator Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.27 mm Infill: 10% How I Designed This I designed Clox using 123D SketchUp, combining Polylines with the extrude function to create a sleek and modern look. Custom Section Project: Word Clox Overview & Background: This project is perfect for students who want to learn about the basics of Arduino microcontrollers, coding, and modules. The Word Clox project is an excellent way to get hands-on experience with these concepts. Students will learn how to connect sensors, write code, and troubleshoot issues. Preparation: Before starting this project, make sure you have the following materials: * Mini USB cable * Soldering iron * FTDI Basic * DS3231 RTC module * Arduino Pro Mini 3.3V 8MHz Duration: The total time required to complete this project is approximately 4 hours and 45 minutes, divided into two parts: printing (1 hour 45 minutes) and assembling and programming (2 hours). Rubric & Assessment: To assess student learning, consider the following criteria: * Did the student successfully build the project? * Can they explain how the sensors work together to display the time and date? * What troubleshooting problems did they encounter, and how did they resolve them?
