Woolnorth Wind Farm is a fully owned and operated wind power facility located at Woolnorth (Cape Grim), Tasmania, Australia by Roaring 40s. It boasts sixty-two functional turbines with an impressive generating capacity of one hundred forty megawatts of electricity. The first phase, featuring six turbines capable of producing one point seven five megawatts each, was successfully completed in August 2002. This initial phase paved the way for a second stage that saw the installation of thirty-one additional turbines, thus augmenting the overall generating capacity to fifty-four megawatts and culminating on April 2004. A third stage dubbed Stage Three brought about further advancements at the Woolnorth Studland Bay site where twenty-five Vestas V90 turbines rated at three megawatts each took center stage. Work began in January 2006 with project completion arriving just nine months later in May 2007, securing the distinction as the largest operational wind farm throughout the Southern Hemisphere.
