This is an incredible replica of a Woolly Mammoth that I obtained from the Smithsonian X 3D site. They offer numerous fascinating models on their website, and I highly recommend exploring it further. I carefully separated the skull from the rest of the Mammoth model, followed by slicing it vertically to detach the tusks. The printed result is exceptionally well-done, but I found this model challenging to print due to its requirements for both brim and support. Check out my instructions for the specific settings that worked for me: Instructions I chose to print the two pieces separately. For anyone willing to attempt a single-piece print or trying different slicing techniques, I have an unsliced copy of just the skull that I'd be happy to share with you upon request. Initially, I scaled down these pieces to 50% so they could fit on my print bed and used Cura for slicing, selecting both support and a 3mm brim. To ensure successful printing, I reduced the print speed significantly. For optimal alignment of the tusks, I employed the following rotation values: X: 3.722655 Y: 1.574096 Z: 50.265361 As for the skull's orientation, it seemed unessential, and thus, I positioned it so that support material attached to its backside. To produce a solid model, I printed in PLA with .2mm layers and an infill level of 20%. After some basic cleanup, I successfully bonded them together using superglue.
