Woolly Mammoth Skeleton
pinshape
UPDATE 22-JUN-2023: I updated the two primary parts to their correct versions with openings for foot pins. Check "WMammoth_Base1_v4.stl" and "WMammoth_Base2_v4.stl". UPDATE 04-MAY-2022: I updated the four "feet" models to the right v4 version, which includes connector pins that snap into the base parts. I also optimized the pelvis-spine-skull pin model to be a smaller file size, so you'll need to print three of them, as indicated by the "x3" in the file name. The source file for this model is a 3D scan of a woolly mammoth skeleton from the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History site at: http://www.3d.si.edu I divided the original model into printable pieces and added snap together features to make it simpler to assemble. I also included a two-piece base to help the assembled model stand properly and enhance strength. The model in the images did not have snap features, so gluing it together was challenging. I haven't tested all of the snap fits, so please let me know if you experience any issues while building it. The model in the photos was printed at 80% scale to fit a 220mm square bed on my printer. This makes the final scale of the model in the pictures 1:12. The height of the assembled model is approximately 320mm (12.6"), or at the 80% scale, the height is approximately 240mm (9.4").
