Woody Valley Carabiner Anti Rotate/Cross Load
thingiverse
I had an issue where on take off, my riser loop would catch on the metal anti rotate feature of the carabiners supplied with my woody valley harness. This was bad as once airbourne it was very difficult, if not impossible to release, I was constantly weight shifting or flying lopsided and a lot of force was being put on a small area of the riser loop by the pointed end of the carabiner feature. This part prints in TPU. No supports or adhesion required, I used 20% infill which is plenty strong. It doesn't really make much difference when the part is only 3mm thick. Many similar designs exist however this one has a large hole and a small hole, only the large hole will fit over the anti rotate feature on the carabiner, thus it sits on top and prevents the riser from becoming trapped. To fit, thread the longer hole onto the carabiner such that the free end is facing inwards to the carabiner. Thread on the harness attachment points and then thread on the shorter hole end. Work it round so that it all sits nicely at the bottom of the carabiner. I've made two sizes. The size in the picture is the standard part. There is also a longer version. The standard part fits, but is tight and some might become frustrated trying to work it round the carabiner. The longer one makes it easier.
