I've had this Japanese marking knife for about 20 years. I've been keeping it in the original hanging packaging up to this point and decided that a handle for it would be nice. Initially, I wanted to turn a wood handle for it, but determined that the aspect ratio of the width to thickness was going to be problematic for turning a pleasing shape and being able to bury the metal inside the wood handle. I 3D printed several candidate designs and decided that this was the most functional and esthetically pleasing. The marking knife is 6 21/32" long, 0.119" thick, and 0.477" wide; the cavity in the handle is sized for that. I used ABS plastic and 0.2 mm print height
