An alternative approach to clamping cauls - joint multiple boards, ensuring that every board is perfectly in line with the next.Prevents misalignment that can come from cauls, and gets rid of the messy aftermath of directly claiming over joins. These items can be printed in PLA - they have more than enough strength to handle any practical clamping force (I tested 3 variations of a design to see if either one showed signs of weakness, and they did not, so I've attached all 3 variations to choose from based on your own aesthetic preferences). The models have been created to minimise the use of filament (they weigh only about 30g each). But they do need some basic low-density support for the inner surface because of this. Also included is a model for some optional feet to print in TPU (about 20% infill seems to give a good balance between flexibility and resilience). Since there are no shearing forces involved, simple CA glue (superglue) works perfectly well.Printing Instructions:Support Needed: YesMaterial: PLA (examples are using Sunlu PLA+), TPU for optional feetPrint Orientation: Print on a side to ensure the layer lines go from top-to-bottom of the clamping pad - to provide the greatest part strength.
