This elevated track support began as a speedy creation, but evolved into what you see today. The "X" bracing on the outside seems to make it remarkably sturdy and gives it a touch of industrial flair. Dimensions have been tweaked a few times - this is likely around the third or fourth revision - to be compatible with newer clone wooden train sets, making my old Brio track from the 1980s fit just right.
