Wooden Shoe Rack

This is a simple shoe rack which combines woodworking with 3D printed parts. To build it you will need:8 braces, can be printed in PLA if using dowels 1 plank doweler1 slat doweler4 wooden panels 800 x 200 x 18 mm4 wooden slats 44 x 44 x 600 mm16 wood dowels 8 mm32 wood screws 3.5 x 35 mm24 wood screws 3.5 x 16 mmwood gluea ratchet or short screwdriver to get in some of the trickier screwsdrill with an 8 mm drill bit for woodruler and pencilIt is strongly recommended that you use the wood dowels, since the weight will otherwise be completely on the 3D printed part, which will sag over time. The dowels will give it a lot of rigidity and the weight of the planks and shoes will be carried by them.To assemble, use the drill with the 8mm drill bit and plank doweler as a template to drill four holes into each of the planks, one in each corner. Make sure that a dowel fits in at least halfway. Then mark on the slats where you want each shelf to sit with a ruler and a pencil. (If you want the top shelf to be flush with the slats make the uppermost mark 9mm from the top of the slats). Then using the slat doweler drill a centered hole into each of the four markings on each slat. Make sure again that a dowel fits in at least halfway in each hole.It is very important that the holes for the dowels are straight, perpendicular and on the same height on each slat, otherwise you will have a hard time assembling the final rackAfterwards, put some wood glue into every hole, and a dowel into each hole on the planks. Then assemble the slats and planks into the final shape of the shelf. Now you only need to slip in the 3D printed braces at the end of each plank and affix each with 3 short screws into the plank and 4 long screws in the diagonal holes into the slats. After everything is finished I would recommend rubbing some varnish or linseed oil into the wood, just looks nicer and makes it last longer. You can of course also use shorter or longer slats, increase or decrease the amount of planks, or use shorter or longer planks. Just make sure you increase the amount of parts accordingly
