The wooden template originates from Derby Locomotive Works, which began operating in the mid-nineteenth century. It would have been utilized for casting production, but without access to the original pattern catalog, it's challenging to pinpoint exactly what this template served as a guide for. We possess several templates similar to this one within our collection and by creating three-dimensional models of some of them, we aim to uncover their intended purpose.
