Wooden rail replacement plugs
thingiverse
We have wooden track elements with spherical connectors that eventually came loose. After trying to glue one back in, it fell out again. I never really liked them because they provide more space when connected. I designed this plug to fix the issue and it seems to work. This is actually the third version of it, but the earlier ones kept coming apart after some use, making them not very useful. There are three sizes of the plug (5.5mm, 6mm, 6.5mm). I printed a bunch of each size and use the largest one that fits the actual piece. Sources for the design can be found on GitHub at https://github.com/kgyrtkirk/cad/blob/master/src/rail_plugs.scad
