Wooden Radio (MP3 Player for Children)
thingiverse
Wooden MP3 player designed for kids comes equipped with 12 customizable playlists and vibrant LED-lit speakers that add an extra touch of fun to the listening experience. The wooden box is carefully crafted using a precision lasercutter, ensuring sharp edges and smooth rounded corners on both sides. The interior of the player holds all the necessary electronics, including tiny wooden holders for the switches located behind the buttons. A high-performance Arduino Mega board and Adafruit Music Maker MP3 Shield work in tandem to deliver superior sound quality through a powerful 3W stereo amplifier. All 12 songs are stored on an SD card that can be easily swapped out using the convenient rear access bay. Upgrading the software is also a breeze, thanks to the removable SD card slot. Powering the device is a robust 6000 mAh power bank that ensures hours of uninterrupted playback. I designed this wooden MP3 player using OpenSCAD, a cutting-edge computer-aided design software. As you can see from the images, every detail was meticulously crafted to create a one-of-a-kind music experience for kids. Here's a sneak peek at how I brought this project to life: The inner structure of the player features tiny switches that hold the buttons in place, showcasing the precision engineering that went into its design. The wiring is clean and tidy, with each switch carefully positioned within the wooden frame. At the heart of the MP3 player lies an Arduino Mega board paired with an Adafruit Music Maker MP3 Shield. These powerful components work together to deliver high-quality sound through a 3W stereo amplifier. LEDs were added to give the player an extra pop of color, making it a true showstopper. The completed electronic assembly is a testament to my design skills and attention to detail. As you can see from these images, I took great care in crafting every aspect of this project, from the wooden box to the electronic components. The blue power bank at the bottom provides power to the device, while the blue LEDs on the power bank's controller add an extra touch of flair. The finished product is a stunning wooden MP3 player that's ready for its close-up. With a side panel yet to be added, this beauty is sure to turn heads wherever it goes. Here's what I used to bring this project to life: Parts list: * 1m^2 of 4mm plywood * Acrylic paint (for the buttons) * Arduino Mega board * Adafruit Music Maker MP3 Shield * USB Power Bank * 2x 4-ohm speakers * 10x RGB LEDs * 15x switches (no lock, 7x7mm) * Pololu Mini Pushbutton Power Switch with Reverse Voltage Protection, LV * Resistors * Cables * USB-Cable (A -> B)
