My 14-year-old son, Mees, crafted a wooden plate with his name on it, which was his first model in Solidworks. He enjoyed the process immensely and plans to create more models soon. I'm teaching him how to use Solidworks (and Acad) as part of his learning experience. The realistic appearance was achieved through intricate details such as cutting away parts of the plate and adding a weathered look, along with an apple and knife to complete the scene. Although it took time to perfect the lighting, the results speak for themselves. The apple model was designed by Zeljko Fabijanic, while the pocket knife is an original creation by my son, as seen in his "Pocket Knife True" design.
