A Pyramid Puzzle is a Mechanical Puzzle (Assembly Puzzle) consisting of numerous Component Pieces in various shapes that fit together to form a Pyramid. This type of puzzle is primarily designed for a single player where the goal is for the player to comprehend the underlying Principle of the object and, after a process of Trials and Errors, reach the Solution. With this in mind, they are often used as an Intelligence Test or in Problem Solving Training. The concept behind these puzzles lies in Mathematics. The oldest known Mechanical Puzzle that emerged in the 3rd century BC originated from Greece and consisted of a square cut into 14 parts. Mechanical Puzzles manufactured solely as Puzzles did not truly manifest until the start of the Industrial Revolution and the advent of a relatively wealthy Middle Class and a wider number of people seeking and able to afford an Education for their children.
