A wooden folding ruler salvaged from the wreckage of the Queen of Sweden, lost in 1745. Measuring 12 inches or one foot in length, this folding ruler splits neatly down its middle. A sturdy brass hinge and pin secure the two ends when folded in place. Parallel lines are embossed onto its surface, divided into twelve distinct blocks numbered consecutively from one to twelve. Each of these blocks is further segmented into precise "eighths" of an inch. The number six is prominently displayed on the hinge itself, while ten and eleven are boldly marked at the ruler's end. It is highly likely that this wooden folding ruler was originally used by a skilled carpenter.
