The James Madison's Montpelier archaeology team led by Madioson unearthed a wooden cow toy at the Gilmore Cabin site (https://www.virginia.org/listings/HistoricSites/GilmoreCabinandFreedmansFarmatJamesMadisonsMontpelier/). The artifact was discovered in a late 19th or early 20th century deposit alongside two other wooden toys, potentially part of a Noah's Ark play set. On June 5, 2017, the toy underwent 3D scanning using a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner.
