Wooden Barrel

I created my wooden chest (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1917674) using leftover Laywood Filament. A barrel was printed, but the last three layers failed due to running out of filament. This project is still a work in progress; I think the wooden structure needs improvement or a better printer would be necessary. So I re-carved some details and painted the iron rings black with a pencil. The barrel requires support on the bottom. A High Res version was added, featuring names with HR in them. This one includes planks on the bottom and a plug. Print Settings Printer: Velleman k8200 Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: .24mm Infill: Cubic Designing This I used Blender to design this barrel. Starting with a simple mesh, I applied the Subdivision Surface Modifier. Then I added a wood texture and utilized a Displace Modifier to adjust the mesh according to the texture. Iron Rings were added via the Boolean Add Modifier, and some planks were modeled to close it.
