Wood Joint Clamping Jig

Wood Joint Clamping Jig

prusaprinters

Inspired by several homemade wood and purchasable plastic jigs (such as the Woodpeckers Joint Bridge), I modeled a part which can be clamped across two pieces/panels of wood for the purpose of joining them together. This is useful for simple glue-ups or side-by-side dowel joinery, for example. In my initial testing, this model is quite strong and can take a lot of clamping force. Print out a set of 2 parts for each joint. Printing TipsI recommend printing it laying down so that layers go all the way across the part. This should provide the most strength considering the areas that are clamped.I used snug supports in grid pattern for the insets on the underside, however your printer may be able to just bridge it without supports.Increase perimeters to 3 or 4 for additional strength, and either gyroid or 100% infill. If you want it perfectly flat, you'll probably need to sand the pads that touch the wood. You could also print it standing upright, but it may lose some of its strength while clamping.
