Decided to construct a Wood Duck house with the hope of welcoming a family of ducks in the spring. Various construction guides suggest that the entrance should be either 3 inches by 4 inches or 3.5 inches by 4.5 inches, so I opted to find a middle ground and created a template measuring 3.25 inches by 4.25 inches. I also incorporated a small centerline gauge (perhaps this is just my Type A personality shining through). Utilized the building plans from the Ducks Unlimited website. The back of the house was shortened to 29.5 inches, as 31 inches seemed excessive.
