Here's a crate I designed and built for my Pelago commuter front rack. It features a 3D printed frame and a spring loaded quick release mechanism. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EO3g5i-sck BOM ==================== - 12 x 426mm x 40mm x 8mm wood slats are required. - 6 x 276mm x 40mm x 8mm wood slats will be needed too. - Epoxy glue is necessary for assembly. - Polyurethane wood glue provides additional strength. - 4 x M5 16mm hex bolts secure the frame. - 8 x M3 8mm hex bolts hold the spring loaded mechanism in place. - 8 x M3 nyloc nuts prevent bolt backout. - 12 x 3mm x 12mm wood screws attach the slats to the frame. - A 5mm diameter coil spring from a pencil provides the quick release function. - Some 8mm steel tube is used for the handles of this crate. - Cotton bar tape adds grip and protection.
