This is a Quick Adjust Clamp that uses a washer at an angle to provide the quick adjust feature. To make one, you'll need: * A 3/8 threaded rod of any length * 3 - 3/8 bolts * 1 - 3/8 washer (with an outside diameter of about 1 inch) * 2 - 5/16 washers (which go on the handle) The 3/8 washer goes into the sliding clamp, while the two 5/16 washers fit between the handle and the stationary clamp. Two nuts are placed on the end of the threaded rod, which is then tapped with a hammer to damage the threads so that the nuts will stay in place. Next, you'll want to insert the handle pointing upwards and place the threaded rod with the nuts on top. Give the rod a few good whacks with a hammer to drive the nuts and threaded rod into the handle. The nuts and threaded rod will stay put thanks to two small tabs on the handle. Finally, add a third nut to the stationary clamp just to keep it from shifting around.
