A somber gravestone in the graveyard of St Mary the Virgin Church, Eling (Totton), Hampshire, UK, captures a poignant scene: a woman mournfully draped over an urn. The church's imposing Victorian exterior conceals its rich history, with Saxon and Norman structures dating back centuries, potentially making it "the tenth oldest church in England". A glance at the gravestone reveals no name, but its early 19th-century origins are betrayed by the Neoclassical motif of a mourning woman and urn.
