Marble statue of a woman in fragments. The head, neck, feet, left arm from socket, right forearm and hand are all missing parts. A fragment of the right upper arm is reattached with plaster. The lower legs were broken and rejoined. The right breast area shows damage. Standing facing forward, the left foot is advanced. The left hand broke off below the shoulder, while the right hand holds up a bunch of draped fabric that falls across the legs in shallow folds. The dress is a chiton with an overfold and hanging ends on each shoulder, featuring zigzag borders. The chiton is low-cut at the neck with a small vertical crease, otherwise its upper surface is very flat; high and small breasts are visible. At the back above the feet, columnar reedings are worked into the draped fabric. Crafted from white, coarse-grained marble. This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory, creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks worldwide for public access free. Scan the World is an open source community effort; if you have interesting items nearby and want to contribute, email stw@myminifactory.com to learn how you can help. Scanned using photogrammetry (Processed with Agisoft PhotoScan).
