Wolverine / Reflecta 8mm Cine Film Scanner. An adaptor kit to allow larger reels pass though the scanner Once complete: Consisting of two stanchions with bearings, a set of drive pulleys, a damper brake and a film rewind handle. You will need some long 8mm bolts, nuts and washers to complete the adaptor kit. You will also need 2x '608' ball bearings (8mm roller skate bearings) You will also need a plank of wood and some wood screws, a cup hook, some paracord, also some plastic assembly joints as per the photo, these are used to index/register your Scanner to the Adaptor. You can use a steel spring drive band, commonly found in model steam toys such as a 'Mamod' Drive band. or an elastic band, there are two pulleys, print to suit your preference. the Damper brake stops the feed spool from spinning and unwinding the film prior to passing through scanning, use a short length of soft cord and adjust the weight with a stack of washers, you can remove the brake on film rewind This adaptor works a charm, you simply move the scanner into it's registration on the plank when you need to use it for larger reels, swap out the original take up spool for the printed drive pulley, slip the drive belt on and you're pretty much ready to go, the rewind handle is just a friction drive on your original spool so tighten it up 'just enough', you may need to add in some thin washers either side of the bearing to get it to run free, but you'll work it out... Please post me a picture if you make one ...and try out 'Film9' it's free software to re-master your old movies ;)
