Wolff wide clamp
thingiverse
This is my version of a wide clamp for the Wolff Twice-as-Sharp scissor sharpening system. this is for sharpening chisels or plane irons. I didnt want to pay the ~$80 for the factory clamp. https://wolffindustries.com/collections/clamps/products/standard-wide-shear-clamp modifications: This clamp is 1" wider than the standard narrow clamp. Added a small reference shoulder to keep the blade or chisel vertical. There is an additional shallow hole for a 1/4-20 screw to help prevent the jaw from racking The original adjuster screw had an oblong hole, but this is changed to a tight fitting hole to further prevent racking. There is a provision for a section of 5mm smooth rod to act as a guide rail. Parts needed ~2" of 3/16" dowel but i used a cut down drill bit. This is the part that rides in the angle adjuster. 1/4-20 tap to cut threads for the screw that holds the jaw together and the thickness adjusting screw 10-32 tap for the angle locking bolt Optional. but youll probably want to use at least one 1/4-20x 1/2" screw to help prevent racking ~2" or 50mm of 5mm smooth rod (this is what i had, but you dont need that much https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082ZNHXZC ) Print orientation print as shown in photos no supports needed print the upper jaw on the side with the shoulder down print the lower jaw flat I used 7 walls and 99% since this is designed to be aluminum I used Polymaker PLA Pro, not tested in any other material Post Processing Tap the holes as needed insert dowels the sliding dowel should fit tight in the upper jaw, should slide on the lower jaw. you may need to slightly enlarge the sliding hole
