You think I'm a patriot? That's cute! Every boy and man must have his own trusty SMG! The Submachine Gun, or SMG for short, is a lightweight automatic weapon that packs a punch in Wolfenstein: The New Order and its spin-off, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. It's the go-to primary weapon of the Allied Forces in 1946, and you get to use it right from the start! This fast-firing beauty has a large magazine size and minimal recoil, making it perfect for taking down multiple enemies up close or even sniping them from a distance. Ammo is plentiful because it shares the same pickup type as the Handgun 1946 - just don't go crazy with that trigger finger, or you'll run out of bullets in no time! Despite its usefulness, the SMG gets quickly replaced by the Assault Rifle 1946, which can be picked up from the very first enemy soldier you encounter. Compared to its replacement, the SMG is significantly weaker and harder to get ammo for - plus, it can't even be dual-wielded! After the time jump, the SMG makes a disappearing act, and it doesn't have a 1960 counterpart either.
