Wolf Head (Cub Totem Grand Howl)
thingiverse
I wanted to create a Totem Wolf head for my son's Cub weekly meeting Grand Howl Ceremony, so I sliced the wolf model into three pieces to reduce the amount of supports required and allow me to print it bigger than my Ender 3 could handle. There are locating pins in each model section. The bottom has a threaded hole from a thingiverse design to fit onto a broomstick, and there's also a hollow inside the model where I inserted a note and a 3D printed coin before gluing the model together. Update June 15, 2019: I forgot that I used a different pin model for the four pins. I used the Pin 10x20 v1.stl file, which will be stronger, so you'll need to print four of them. They are printed horizontally, split in half instead of upright, with a hinge to make the pin. I didn't bother gluing the pins before inserting them into the model, but you can still use the Grand_Howl_Too_Pins.stl if you want. I'm including a base that I originally used when painting the Wolf Head - it can also be used as a display stand. Probably not of use to anyone, but I also made a tripod mount for the Wolf Head. I found that it was much easier to paint the model when I could lock it into any position on the tripod instead of using the flat base. This Broom Thread Release Plate.stl fits a Manfrotto RC386 Quick Release Head. If you like this thing, please post a make. Update June 19, 2019: I remixed a Keychain version of the wolf which prints in one piece.
