Well Just You Wait is a Russian animated series produced by Soyuzmultfilm that premiered in 1969 and quickly gained popularity in the Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc countries where it aired well into the early 21st century when a new episode was finally released in 2006. The main character in this humorous animation series is an eccentric but creative wolf, who frequently finds himself attempting to outsmart a Hare he wishes to eat while the hapless wolf consistently gets caught in the act due to a series of comedic mishaps that unfold. Along the way various other characters become entangled with either helping the hare escape the clutches of the wolf or hindering the wolf's often bizarre schemes. Since very little spoken language is used, the episodes instead focus on brief grunts and chuckles as well as song. One consistent refrain used in most episodes features the title line Well Just You Wait! being uttered by a typically frustrated and befuddled wolf. This distinctive catchphrase and humorous interjections give the show its charming offbeat charm.
