Wobbly Bird's Nest Knot
thingiverse
# Thing -------------------------------------------------- A knot whose geometry was created from making a Blender script that follows a demoscene tutorial for PQ Torus knots: https://blackpawn.com/texts/pqtorus/default.html The vertex and mesh stitching code are in the *.blend file, although the exact parameters I used for this model were not saved and lost. The script does not generate the final model ready for printing - after the model is generated from the script, extra processing (such as adding supports and rotating it) is done. # Printing -------------------------------------------------- There are two models. One has supports built-in that need to be carefully broken off and smoothed afterward. The other one is the unprocessed model (no built-in supports). The supports are designed for FDM printing. If the support version is used, print with a brim. # Assembly -------------------------------------------------- If the support version is used, tear off the brim and break the supports. Then attempt to smooth out anything left from the supports.
