Wobble Arrester
thingiverse
This is a modified version of Thingiverse's design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5995). I adjusted the parts to fit 1/4" bushings and combined some elements to save time. However, this is just a temporary fix for my z-wobble issue before dismantling my bot. Using a .375" drill bit, you'll need a set of Cupcake X rods or a 1/4 steel rod from the hardware store, no precision needed. You also require four wobble arrestor rod clamps, two z-rider parts, and two 1/4" x 1" bronze bushings. Modify four Mendel bushing parts as well. For easier assembly, you could print all parts on one plate. Immediately after printing, insert the bronze bushings before they cool down; otherwise, drill them out and glue in place. Install rods, glue z-rider parts to Mendel bushings, move z-stage to start height, glue bushings and z-rider parts to platform, let it set up, oil the bushings, and test for binding. This temporary solution can be removed and reused in another project when upgrading.
