WM8740 DAC case
thingiverse
Purchased one of many WM8740 DACs from eBay and required a suitable housing for it. Surprisingly, it delivers exceptional sound quality. In its current state, this project remains in alpha due to the oversight of incorporating cooling holes; the unit draws 12V AC and efficiently rectifies and regulates it to DC onboard, emphasizing the need for adequate ventilation. Furthermore, a method to securely attach the rear panel is still pending implementation. As it stands, the back panel fits via friction, which appears satisfactory. Additionally, the font size on the front of the case proves too small for my printer's 0.4mm resolution capabilities. The main body of the case prints without any support and with the front plate securely positioned on the print bed, allowing for a glass-shiny finish or a textured appearance courtesy of masking tape (or whatever surface your print area resembles).
