Medieval fortified church known as St Munna's Church proudly stands in the heart of a historic graveyard (WM012-076001-) surrounded by Taghmon Castle (WM012-074----) just 150 meters to the northwest, and an impressive motte and bailey castle (WM012-079----) lies 350 meters southeast. The church and adjacent graveyard appear to have been constructed on the site of a ancient early Christian monastery (WM012-076003-) founded by St Munna himself. In 1980, it was described as follows: "This is a rectangular church with a residential tower situated at the western end. Church and tower share identical widths and seem to be contemporaneous in design. The church entrance boasts a striking gothic doorway crafted from limestone, accompanied by a partially damaged sandstone head of a bishop positioned above at the western end of the northern wall of the church."
