The steering wheel on the remote of my awesome 144001 broke after the wheel's range limiting tabs wore down (I suggest upgrading those as well and may design one). This part seemed hard to repair due to the small nature of the part. I drew this up, and while I haven't fine-tuned the symmetry of the centering spring mechanism fully, it seems to be a drop in replacement. Note the original appears to be two joined pieces but this is just one with the orientation already chosen. I included a V5, V5 without supports, and now a V6 with a larger D, cause I wanted a larger D than I was given so I printed me one. It's untested, so the large D may not fit in your hole - if so, stick with the V5. Print Settings Printer: Elegoo Resolution: 50 Infill: 100 Filament: RESIN! RESIN Meh Notes: I would love to see someone print this on FDM, I imagine I could but the part was aimed at resin printers. I didn't use tough resin, in fact, I used water washable. The part works but it is not as strong as the original, I can feel the flex. There's a little hole at the overhang so you can blow out the threads. You probably want to rinse that well so you don't stress the part jamming the screw pack in. That said, it really works fine and it saved me buying a new remote. Post-Printing I find the knob fits a little loose. The original part is the same though, so I don't worry about it. Sometimes I tap the hole (M2.5), but the threads are in there so if you rinsed it well you should be good to go. Category: R/C Vehicles
