WLToys Reinforced Axel Hub
thingiverse
This is a remix of Gilesclement's 144001 front axel hub assembly. I really liked his/her design, but it kept breaking right at the steering tie rod connection. These are two designs that reinforce that area. UPDATE 1: Files have been updated. I again increased the tie rod hole (2.52mm) and therefore it no longer needs clearance with a drill bit. I have also found that printing the stand (vertically) standing on the end makes for the strongest layer orientation. I recommend printing at 100%. I also print this a little hotter than normal (205c) to ensure layers melt well into each other. I find that 195c makes a cleaner print, but a little extra temperature ensures (as shown by CNC Kitchen) layers bond better and make a slightly stronger print. UPDATE 2: the part must be 100% Also, I've found the increase in strength from hotter print temps isn't worth the diminished print quality to me. Your Call... UPDATE 3 - I have added a 3.0 version which has more gusset/reinforcements. I'm currently running this version on my car, and it has held up much better than the previous versions! give it a try, and let me know what you think!
