The WLToys F949 is a blast to fly with its 3 channel RTF foam design, but the brushed motors assembly can wear out over time. To extend its lifespan, I opted to upgrade to brushless motors instead. The outcome has been impressive: Weighing in at the same as the original, this upgraded model still tips the scales at a lightweight all-up weight of 55g with battery. Flight times remain comparable to the original, clocking in at 8-9 minutes of continuous throttle time and a total flight duration of up to 15 minutes, thanks to its 500mAh 1S power source. But what's most notable is the significant boost in speed and power. This upgraded model can reach speeds of at least 25 miles per hour, making it a thrilling ride for any RC enthusiast.
