WLToys 12428 Solid Front Axle
thingiverse
Hi guys, If you're finding Thingiverse as slow as I am, consider checking out Cults 3D for your 3D parts: https://cults3d.com/en/users/WrenchToDrive/creations Build Guide: https://wrenchtodrive.blogspot.com/2020/04/wltoys-12428-solid-front-axle-build.html This front axle is designed for a WLToys 12428 crawler conversion. I'm breaking the project into three parts because it's quite large and not everyone might want the whole thing. The parts will be front axle, chassis, and back half cage. This build allows you to create an SCX10 compatible(ish) crawler using most of the guts from a WLToys 12428 rock racer. This front axle uses the gears and drive shafts from the WLToys. You'll need the output shaft for the pinion because the stock front axle couples with a drive cup and dog bone. If you have a spare back axle, you can use it and cut off the end. It has a 5mm shaft with a screw hole in the center and is slotted to fit the pinion. I made some steering knuckles that work well, but the bearing cups may need a little adjustment with a moto tool. Take note that the castor blocks are not symmetrical because the left side has a mount for the panhard bar. Check it out on YouTube: https://youtu.be/2mplRo7n8E8 As always, use at your own risk. Wrench to drive or drive to wrench?
