WLToys 12428 Rear Suspension

Hi guys, If Thingiverse is as slow for you as it is for me, consider looking at Cults 3D for your 3D parts: https://cults3d.com/en/users/WrenchToDrive/creations. I printed the WLToys 12428 rear suspension trailing arm and upper link to test PETG strength compared to the stock plastic parts. The PETG is not as flexible, but it seems pretty strong. It's frustrating to get ball ends to work in printed parts, so I experimented with a plastic part alone, and it's working well so far. As always, use this information at your own risk. Do you drive wrench or does the wrench drive you? If you're considering buying a WLToys 12428 in 2019, mine came with metal gears, which is a nice surprise (except for the spur gear). The diff was put together nicely, but the ring and pinion were under-lubricated to my liking. The diffs are a little rough out of the box, so some light-duty break-in running might be a good idea. There are shims between all the gears and their surfaces in the diff, so if you want to upgrade a plastic gear car, you'll likely need to find some shims to get it working smoothly.
