WLED Button Box
prusaprinters

This box is for a nodemcu ESP8266 and three 16mm temporary buttons. The ESP runs both the MQTT broker and client. Pressing the buttons publishes to the wled/all topic to make changes. I use this in conjunction with my status indicator project that runs WLED.

To use this you will need to set the WLED devices to use this device as its broker. No username or password for MQTT.

Config → Sync Interfaces → MQTT

The included .ino is the sketch I put together for this. The unit will power up with its own access point that you can use to set the Wi-Fi credentials. After that it will boot up with the saved credentials. The username and password for the access point are in the sketch.

If you run multiple instances of WLED you may want to change the topic from wled/all to the devices specific topic.

You need 4x M4 screws to hold it together. The fitment is very tight, so the screws are optional.
