sketchfab
Human: 2 portable boulders sit comfortably in a private collection, nestled south of Witton Gilbert, County Durham. The largest rock is meticulously recorded as ‘Witton Hall Farm 1’ and was added to the ERA database by NADRAP in 2008. It originally resided in a field approximately 300m west of the farm, situated in the same geographic area as Witton Gilbert 1. Distinct motifs consist of intricately carved cups and surrounding grooves. ERA records can be accessed at: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=790 The smaller stone is ‘Witton Hall Farm 2’ and showcases a single large, broad cup with deliberate pecking on the reverse side. ERA records for this artifact can be found at: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=791 A detailed model was created from 5 vertically aligned images captured by Joe Gibson during NADRAP's recording efforts in January 2008. The accompanying imagery forms a vital part of the NADRAP / ERA archive.
