sketchfab
This palm-sized cobble boasts a remarkably smooth surface, honed to perfection by countless hands that have held and used it over time. Its purpose is shrouded in mystery, yet a small label attached to its side provides a glimpse into its history: 'A witch's charm employed by an elderly woman and Orphir in the 19th century. To restore fertility and richness to a cow's milk, she would rub this stone along its spine.' This fascinating artifact is on display at the Stromness Museum, accession number A115.
