Wiremold Power Strip Hold Down Clamps
thingiverse
I have a Wiremold brand power strip securely attached to the back of my workbench, which features conveniently placed wheels that allow me to easily pull the bench away from the wall. However, I soon discovered that this mobility comes with a drawback - when the bench is pulled out, the power strip falls off. Since I acquired this strip second-hand, I didn't receive the original mounting hardware. After researching other designs, I noticed some projects utilize a basic Omega shape to mount their power strips. While this approach would indeed hold the strip in place, it would unfortunately shift the unit an inch into my work area. To avoid this issue, I decided to design a custom solution that pushes the power strip all the way to the back edge of my workbench. To accomplish this, I employed a clever mechanism involving a leg that drops behind the workbench and is secured in place with a screw. This design not only keeps the power strip firmly attached but also allows me to effortlessly roll my workbench away from the wall whenever needed. For your convenience, I'm including both STL and Fusion 360 files for this project. Feel free to modify them as you see fit to suit your specific requirements.
