Wireless Power Pebble
myminifactory
Sublime power stone. Wireless charging station...without the cords. After a long day's work snapping photos on Instagram, texting friends and scrolling through Facebook, let this wireless charging pebble bring your phone back to harmony by resting it atop its surface. The secret behind this phone stand is the Adafruit QI wireless charging transmitter nestled inside. No one can deny the fascination and cool factor of wireless charging! This isn't really for Apple fans right now (since the iPhone requires a case plugged into the phone to draw power from the wireless transmitter - which kind of defeats the purpose of wireless charging, in my humble opinion). However, an increasing number of smartphones being released onto the market already come with QI charging capabilities built-in! The Google Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6 and 7. HTC Droid DNA & 8x. The Motorola Droid Maxx & droid mini. And the Nokia Lumia 920, 928, 929, 930, 1020 and 1050 are just a few examples of compatible smartphones. - If you own a relatively new smartphone and aren't sure if it's compatible, try googling your model along with "QI charging compatibility" to find out. Personally, I'm captivated by the wireless technology becoming available. Although its range is short, still quite a novelty to see QI devices charging, as if by magic! I designed my power pebble using Solidworks - incorporating elements of Feng Shui, with a clean minimalist finish. To be displayed proudly anywhere from an office desk to a coffee table without upsetting the balance of the room. Resting your most indispensable device, and making sure it's ready to go when you need it! The top and base of the pebble are made using PLA - coupled together with flexible Ninjaflex band.
